WORN 4 Launches tonight!

by Worn Journal

It’s Cinco de Mayo so there’s historic battle winning in the air and of course lots going on. Aside from a little disorienting trip down memory lane with some best girlfriends at our 10 year high school reunion this afternoon, today I’ll be sticking a head in to the Fringe party raging at the Mainline theatre, then gallavanting towards my main destination: the issue 4 Worn launch. For one - 1 have 2 bits of writing in this one, including a book review I’m pretty excited about, and an article about dry cleaning, and I haven’t seen the illustrations that accompany either! But I know both the artists and am a fan friend. One of them is Indyish ally Tyler Rauman, who also designed the flyer. According to himself at the ‘pants pants revolution’ house party we were at last night, it’s one he’s most proud of. And that’s sayin something.

The other stupendous thing about the Worn night tonight will be eye balling the unique designer handbags and witnessing a true auctioneer do her thing. And I do have this mini insider scoop for you - yahhh scoops. The owners and designers who run Lustre Boutique helped me pull together a photoshoot for the next issue of Worn last week (me being embarassingly over-punctual again, but anyway). While I was there, they told me about the shoot Worn had done at their boutique with all the handbags, and said some of those bags should go for 500$ dollars or more.

Here’s the truth folks, at a launch at a new little art gallery like My Hero for an indie fashion zine, where the bidding starts at 5$ it’s quite possible somebody will walk away with a serious bargain and good Ebay fodder for later. Headsss up.
