Some of you may be wondering this - Where are the new Indyish artists? - some of you may know (or be) folks who sent us a super nice query email about joining Indyish and haven’t heard back yet. Some may be wondering WTF. Well here’s W: we are trying to make our house ready, really ready for this next stage of life. We officially decided to close the doors completely until we were ready with a good, sexy even maybe, system for letting artists in. This is better, we decided, then having poor you ending up confused by our mid-DIY-ness.
So now we have accumulated an awesome list of people whom we can’t wait to share this space with, and a gorgeous New Artist invite illustration from George Blott evoking our true ship o fools nature, which I’ll show you soon as it starts to go out, and an automated registration process, with a whole new portal for entering the site! We’re jussssst about to unleash all this and we hope yall can forgive the delay and get stoked about what we’ve got growing for you here at Casa del Indyish.
First we worked on new functionality for Indyish artists - video and podcast channels, galleries and forums and embedded ftp and more - and now we’re working on refreshing old pages and creating a whole bunch of new pages to feature the new goods.
Most of this work happens on the development server where Elran can break the site and fix it, break it, fix it, all the live long day without bothering anyone. So some changes you’ll just have to wait to see.
One small change I did make on the main site, and I think it’ll be meaningful to some of the people who’ve been working hard and helpfully on behalf of Indyish lately - check out the updated Team page!
Oh, and side note on this page - if you’ve seen it recently you’ll note that, aside from adding Lise Treutler to the Team, who’s been wicked to work with ever since the Fringe, I decided for this update to remove the hilarious animated gif of Elran, Tessa, Tristan and myself. Sad but necessary, only because gifs are not cross browser compatible, so some people were just seeing a big hole there which seemed, I dunno, slightly less then pro.
The gif remains our Indyish profile picture on Myspace, land of animated giffyness… and ooooh ok, I’ll post it one more time here, just to amuse while yer waitin for your snazzypants new Indyish invite to arrive. These are just some of the goofy people working to make Indyish happen:
