What to do next week?????

by Marilis Cardinal

Hey kids! Want to ditch homework and have some fun? Well good! Mama’s got a whole lotta goodies planned for ya! If Osheaga didn’t completely burn you out, here’s what’s on my agenda that I might or might not get to.

On Tuesday, my good friend Erica Legault is having an art show before she departs for Korea to teach english. Come down to Galerie Sharon Ramsay (372 Ste. Catherine W.), Belgo Building, Studio 528 (5th Floor), bring your own drinks and come hang out and enjoy some art. Here’s what the lady herself had to say:
Artist’s Statement Summary:

Hello,

September 11th 2007 marks the first solo exhibition by Erica Legault, “Are you there God? It’s me, Rico.” The featured works are a personal reflection on the existence of a rational order or a comprehensible Truth. These paintings attempt to undo reality and capture Chaos in a Godless world.

Through the abstraction of nature in conjunction with an attempt to record memory, morality, rhythm, as well as the raw vibes radiated from a conscious palette, my paintings struggle to keep a balance between absolute spontaneity and the formalities required for a prearranged vision.

Such Pretty words,

Erica Legault

On Wednesday, you should head down to Divan Orange for Shapes and Sizes, Magic Weapon and Anemones.

Fall 2007 at PrelovedOn Thursday, come by Preloved (4832 St Laurent) to see Tessa and I and the rest of the Preloved team wearing some tiaras, swim in a sea of vintage shoes brought to you by La Chatte Bottee, shop for some Preloved with 25% off and enjoy some cocktails and munchies! Afterwards, Dragonette are doing a show over at le Petit Campus.

And voila! Have a great week and check out the Meg and Osheaga festival action happening tonight and this weekend!
