Well, if you are a huge geek (and by that i mean, even geekier than me) you probably already knew about this latest release from the search engine giant. If you haven’t seen all the headlines on tech sites everywhere, he’s the quick lowdown:

Google just released a new web browser and is called: Chrome. It’s open source and built with Webkit - the same browser rendering engine that is used at the heart of the Safari web browser. Which means, it’s supposed to be super fast and cool. But, unfortunately, at this time it’s only available for Windows machines.
A great twist to the story is how Google announced the release of its new web browser. In a comic book!! With illustrations by Scott McCloud.
Here’s a great quote from blogoscoped.com:

Today there was a comic book in my mail, sent by Google and drawn by no less than Scott McCloud, creator of the classic Understanding Comics. Within the 38 pages, which I’ve scanned and put up, in very readable format Google gives the technical details into a project of theirs: an open source browser called Google Chrome.
Awesome! Somehow, it seems like only Google can get away with these kinds of promotional tactics.
