IndieCan Music is so hyped about teaming up with Indyish and all of you members. We cover the emerging music scene in Canada in the rock, pop, punk, folk, reggae and alt-just about anything genres. We started posting our pod cast to the internet at http://www.indiecan.com early in 2006 and Episode 1 had 400 listeners in the first month. By NXNE we were on our first college/community station and since then we have been picked up by 5 FM stations, two internet radio stations and now 30,000 are tuning in each week from around the world. Canadian indie is hot shit around the world - who knew!
In February 2008 you will find us on XM Satellite Radio two or three times every week. This is “hot off the press” news and I am happy to share it with you.
And now you can listen right from Indyish, too - check out our first IndieCan episode ever; a Montreal feature, with the Dress Whites and Dave Martell; and our newest edition, IndieCan 71, with Golden Dogs and more on the Indyish Podcast! Every week we will post our latest episode and a couple of our archive shows. If you’re in a hurry, feel free to check out the shows at www.indiecan.com now where you can find over 70 one-hour shows. We are artists and music lovers here to promote the great Canadian indie stories that we see out on the streets every day.
Each show will include “live at IndieCan” with a feature artist playing live off the studio floor, our “industry insider” interview and a trip from coast-to-coast with great tunes of artists we are getting to know.
Keep in touch with us - we are where the music is: Here at Indyish, Facebook and Myspace so come have your say. If you are in a band or love a band and you’re thinking of submitting material, listen to a show or two and if you think you’re music is our “cup of tea” go to www.indiecan.com and click on “contact us” for info on where to send a CD.
