Hello Indyish! It’s been a while since we last talked. How about we plan Nightwood/Indyish date nights? I think it’d be great for our relationship. We’ll post an entry on Indyish every coupla weeks or so and if you’re in the mood, you could read them. Cool? Cool.

Our band, Nightwood, has been up to a bunch of stuff lately and we’ve been blogging like it’s going out of style. Here are some highlights about what’s up with us:
>>> We took part in an amazing Silk-Screening 101 workshop at the Ste-Emilie Skillshare! The plan is to make our own t-shirts and stuff with these newly acquired skillz!
>>> We’re participating in a year-long weekly video challenge proposed by one Dayna MacLeod! It’s called 52 Pick-Up and it’s getting us off our asses.
>>> We helped model awesome vintage threads for Lara Kaluza’s awesome Etsy shoppe called The Crumpet Closet! Um, it’d be amazing if she could be our personal stylist. We’d feed her peeled grapes and tea in exchange.
>>> We made two goodbye videos for our former drummer/papa bear “Famous” Eric Lapointe!
>>> We are pleased to welcome and make beautiful music with our new drummer Jeremy MacCuish (he also plays in Parlovr and Cotton Mouth)!
>>> We’re starting to record our first full length album at the end of the month with Martin Horn of Cotton Mouth and Digital Bird Studios. We’re planning an elaborate sage and sweet grass smudging ceremony and will be carefully placing powerful and energizing crystals on our amps, in doorways and windows to aid us in this journey. Maybe. And we’re roadtripping it to see Marnie Stern for inspiration (she’s our power animal).
>>> Blogging!!!!! About stuff like show reviews, scurvy, free stuff you should get in on, how to end songs, beauty tips, and more yo.
>>> …And we’re twittering!
Hey, come check us out on Saturday night! First show back! New songs! New Jeremy! We’re on first, so do come early and already wasted please. We’ll be opening for Valleys and Azeda Booth. We think it’s a good idea try some new songs live before we commit them to forever in the studio, so come sneak a listen before we go back into hiding! It’ll be a while until the next time. Green Room is 5386 St. Laurent, Montreal, QC, H2T 1S1. Thanks to Blue Skies Turn Black and Passovah.
