Upcoming Indyish Events - Frosh, Remember Griffintown, and POP!

Whew! Over the next 3 weeks Indyish is involved in some great events and I’ve been busy like the proverbial freaking beaver putting them together! We are working with McGill University to put on their 3 days of Frosh events on the lower field next week, and with Concordia University Television to throw a three day celebration concert and art weekend devoted to Remembering Griffintown - Sept 12, 13, 14.

Sept 13 is an all day Indyish MonthlyMess with traditional Irish music seguaying into amazing girl and boy hiphop then some killer danceable punk. It’s at this crazy spot where Ottawa street ends at Dalhousie and the traintracks, check out the map:

I have just about all the acts I need for these 2 shows but if you really want to get involved and can make a thousand students dance, send me an email and I’ll see what I can do.

Two weeks after that double bonanza, it’s POP Montreal time and our showcase (which will rock you) is Oct 3 at Il Motore! That line up is long ago locked and loaded and off to the program people to do what they will with it (and by long ago, I mean 7am today.) Now it’s just a question of coordinating the promotional and technical stuff, and finding the one generous band per night that will share their backline (drums, and amps) to make everything easier for everyone. Thankfully I have great help for these shows, and sexy highend gear, from AKG and Soundcraft and Moog. These guys (all guys, hmm) really know their stuff and have also been super kind, excited about the shows and helpful. Anyway, back at it I guess!
