Looking for free arts-related stuff to do this weekend in Montreal? Here are 3 events I recommend. Lots to do! Run, run, run!
1) “Atelier Portes Ouvertes” from Friday May 23rd to Sunday, May 25th
Over the last few days, these painted images have been appearing on sidewalks to advertise the Atelier Portes Ouvertes. Each image is of a door, opened slightly more than the last, to reveal the APO logo. Check out some of the 21 workshops in the Mile End that are opening their doors with 5 à 7s every night.

2) “Marchons notre quartier” on Sunday, May 25th (10am-12:30)
From the Pop Montreal website, “Mile-End, stand up! It’s time to get involved in that joyful artist community in which you are lucky to be.” Take a guided walking tour of Mile End with stops for discussion about ways to support and improve the area for people living and working there.
>Email to rsvp and get info on where to go.
3) “Museums Day” on Sunday, May 25th (9am-6pm)
Free admission to 29 museums from 9am-6pm with free shuttles between the museums until 4:30. Some of the big names: Biodome, Grande Bibliotheque, Planetarium, Architecture Museum, Cinematheque, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Contemporary Art Museum, Science Centre, Holocaust Memorial…A great chance to see all the permanent collections you might have missed.
