Rules for the Indyish 24hr Music Video Making Contest.
‑You have received a song by either Shoot the Moon, Sara Johnston or Telefauna. This is the song you must use for your music video.
‑You have 24 hours to shoot, edit, and burn to DVD. (if you can’t accomplish this last bit, bring your video in anyway and we’ll try and help you, or play it off the camera, but there’s no guarantees)
‑You cannot shoot the band. But you can use photos, if you can find them online.
‑You can use footage you already have, or stock footage, or shoot something new. You must have the right to use that footage. (There is public footage available online in the Prelinger Archives and in the Open Source motion picture section of the Internet Archive.org)
‑The bands and their judges will be looking for a video that really works with their song, and the feeling and rhythm of their music. Please keep this in mind, and be respectful of their work and of the organization that is unleashing you on the public.
‑You must include credits. These must have the Song name, the Band name, your name, and that the video was made during an Indyish Event.
Your song is either:
Tombstone by Telefauna
Cod Fish Boy by Sara Johnston
Concubine’s Lament by Shoot the Moon
IMPORTANT:
Participation in the project (ie submitting a video) constitutes agreement to the following:
The results of the indyish 24 Hour Music Video Making Challenge are licensed with a Creative Commons Attribution license, which allows Indyish and anyone else to use the music video in their own ways, even commercial or mashup ways, so long as they attribute the work properly (see credits above). This license will only affect this earliest version of the video. Any subsequent edits made constitute a new video, which is owned by a limited partnership between participants. It is up to these parties to discuss future use. If you get actors involved, they must sign this paper to signal their agreement.
