“theKP is a montreal art collective, whose sworn purpose is to create a culinary cultural scene in montreal, elevating the craft of cooking to a highly sought after commodity.”
That is the first paragraph of the Kitchen Project’s manifesto. You can read the rest at http://thekp.info
I had the pleasure of being invited over for dinner this New Year’s Eve… My good friend Jeff Leggo was offering an alternative to all the other New Year’s festivities: he was going to prep a multi-course meal over the course of the night… we would eat, drink and maybe take note of when the clock struck midnight.
This was a bit of a preview of what Jeff has planned for this year’s Montreal Fringe festival. Come June, Jeff will present his cooking show at the Fringe entitled “The Curried 1/2 Dozen +2″. He is a marvel to watch in the kitchen and that will be a good part of the entertainment value of his upcoming show.
So why post something about an event more then 4 months away? Two good reasons: Jeff may hold some pre-Fringe experiments at his soon to be announced, new home base. You should keep an eye on his web site for details. The other reason: I believe in hyping things I believe in. Hey, if Dreamworks feels the need to tell you that Shrek 3 is only 18 million months away, I think it’s even more important to hype the locals we love.
I invite you to visit Jeff’s very basic web site (we expect it to be updated soon with more info about upcoming events). Keep your eyes on the site; Jeff & co are very Indyish (very-ish). Food is an art and all artists have to eat…
