The Indyish All-Site-Refresh has Arrived!

Well, it’s been about 4 months in the works.. and the website refresh is just the beginning. This summer promises to be an exciting one. If you’ve been following along, the basic develpoment plan has been to give the website a “refresh”, then focus on site performance and feature upgrades / improvements. We’ll be testing the site thoroughly over the next few weeks and doing some fine tuning of things as we go along. Sometime in mid-July, we’ll be upgrading to the most recent version of WordPress which will include a major back-end re-design, and many more bug fixes.
New in this version of the website:
- thumbnail management (thumbnail images for products are handled entirely differently now, allowing us to do so much more with them)
- more/less details on the Blog page and Events page (click on these links to open/close additional details for a given post)
- featured products on the Front page and Boutique page (we’ll be featuring 1 product on the Front page and 3 products on the Boutique page)
- random products in the sidebar (hover over an image to view the title for that product, click on it to go directly to that product page)
- featured member on the Network page (we’ll be featuring different artists on the new Network page)
- streaming audio on the Front page (MP3 files uploaded to the Indyish Podcast site now appear on the new Front page)
- featured blog columns (links to articles written and organized into regular columns by our blog editors)
- browse indyish content from the sidebar (find links to Columns, Products, Tags, and Comments in the sidebar)
- header links that lead to other sections of the Indyish site (Podcast,Video,Gallery)
- footer links that lead to informative, site related pages (About,Press,Terms)
- bug fixed: No Shipping for Digital Goods (this works again)
- new pages: Contact, Volunteer, Boutique, Recent Member Activity
To do:
- still need to outfit the other sections of the Indyish site (Podcast,Video,Gallery) with the new look
that’s it. the cat is out of the bag, the eagle has landed.. on the cat.
i don’t care, ’cause i’m going to bed.

glad you’re enjoying the new site design..
we were definitely hoping that by making the site easier to browse we’d be giving people a reason to visit the site more frequently. there’s already tons of good content on Indyish, now you can actually find it!
