The Dictatorship of Debt Tonight

by Risa Dickens

This from Sarah Pearson - one of the awesome crew helping Tessa and I out with the Assembly 2.0.. which I’ll be posting about in a minute. Sarah will also be blogging here at indyish soon, and then hopefully helping us take our Indyish projects on the road to future Fringe’s as she heads onwards on her Fringe fabulous journeyings. She’s also a singer and actor, and if you’re around Montreal tonight and looking for something to light up your life, check her out in a Cabaret called “The Dictatorship of Debt” which sounds potentially AWESOME.

Hi there, this is totally last minute, but I’m in a cabaret show
Monday night - April 16 at the Sala Rosa , and I think it’s
gonna be pretty fabulous. It’s called “The Dictatorship of Debt,”
and has been put on in one form or another by the Social Justice
Committee of MTL for the past several years. The show explains the
history of Third World debt by combining campy cabaret themes, live
music, interactive theatre, and FOOD. I’m acting in it, and I’ve
written a couple of the tunes.

It’s ten bux at the door, which includes a vegan dinner (and it’s
yummy…i made most of it myself). Doors at 7:30, show at 8. There’s
a really wicked acoustic band playing afterwards, should you wish to
tarry. Monday April 16th!! Word.
