Telio fashion show and Seditionaire Designer’s market for Fashion Week

by Marilis Cardinal

Fashion Week is underway with great shows for the fashion fabulous or just curious. Last night was the Telio competition at the Imperial Hotel where it was the unveiling of the results for the contest that some fellow Lasalle Collegers had spent many sleepless nights over. First place went to a student from École Supérieur de la Mode. The talented Quynh Nguyen who’s hooded design won my heart over when it was still nothing but a muslin sample won second place and another Lasalle student went home with third place. A shout out to my sidekick Thomas Tait who’s futuristic denim body suit and mask sent him to fourth place with many oohs and ahs from the crowd where he strutted his tall skinny frame and flashed his ”Send me to St-Martins” shirt. Soon, I tell you, you will be seeing this boy at the most prestigious of London’s shows, and I will be living in his garage (we have a deal).

If you haven’t been able to check out any of the shows, and because markets are great but indie markets are even better, the following just might interest you.

Designer Market Tradeshow FlyerHello all!
As you probably know we are getting ready for our next show, Ariel
Dorfman’s Death and the Maiden, opening May 9th at the Just for Laughs
Museum… for this Fashion Week we have planned a fundraiser for
Seditionaire…and what better way to do it than by sharing the
spotlight with some of the city’s best talent in design. This Friday
March 23 (5-11pm) and Saturday March 24th (3-9pm) we will be hosting a
designer’s market and tradeshow to give a platform to independent
designers to not only sell their collections, but also display them.
This Fashion Week, declare your independence, come share in a
rebellious affair of cocktails and fashion…hope to see you all
there!

All the best,

Lita
