Hey guys, I found out late yesterday that the interview Indyish did on the late night radio program with Peter Anthony Holder was picked for his yearly Best Of and rebroadcast over the weekend. I think this is because we brought James Finnerty and he played a lovely live rendition of his song Borderline Ferry. […]
The 13th Monthly Mess (or 1-year aniversary mess, to be less creepy) felt to me like the smoothest and certainly tastiest show to date. The growing number of artists, organizations, sponsors and volunteers who are eager to contribute to Indyish events is itself a huge mark of success for the network.
Thanks to soundman James Finnerty and indie sponsor Solar Dog Records, the whole January Indyish Monthly Mess - the City Mess - is now available over on the Indyish podcast!
You can check out Charlotte Cornfield’s set, which for me was the bright delight surprise of the evening, and the full Save Griffin Town Presentation, […]
Hey, if you’re looking for some listening fodder on a Sunday or some other day, there’s a new Lickety-Split oddcast up on the Indyish podcast. It got slipped in there a few days ago and has been cruising groovily beneath the radar ever since:

Strictly Acoustic ran it’s 9th edition last night and I trundled out, not just to see and support James Finnerty…
…and OK Giraffe…
…but also to take in the show’s logic and concept, to meet the organizer and see if I could pass along some perspective here for musicians looking to get involved.
The night runs on […]
James Finnerty, who recently released a preview of his ep on Indyish podcast, much to our delight, is playing tonight at a local monthly showcase called Strictly Acoustic at O Patro Vys, with Ok Giraffe (yay!) and Karine Novelle, and Rob Lutes (what a great music name!). I’ll be heading down to interview the […]
Hello and happy new year! It’s been over a month since last we visited the land of podcast. Now we’re back with the third and final installment of that ever so entertaining evening of music featuring the It’s a Living Thing band, Me & Maryjane, Risa and myself. After the last Indyish meeting, we were […]
Now that November is almost up, the December monthly mess is in full swing! Celebrate the holidays with us at the X-Mess Dec 19 at Ye Old Orchard Pub on de la Montagne, south of St. Catherine (Montreal!) Not only is it going to be our 10th Monthly Mess, but we will also be celebrating […]
A few days back my good friend Risa and I were having a conversation about receiving assistance from the business community for our projects. Yep, we were talking about “corporate sponsorship” - something usually frowned upon in the DIY and indie communities (Or is it? - I’m not sure… maybe I frowned upon it at […]
So last week I had a great opportunity to do some guerilla recording with Vancouver psych-rock band It’s a Living Thing in my home studio. I was initially expecting a two person, electric guitar set up after having listened to some of their earlier work. To my surprise I was greeted by four members […]
