This is not so much analysis as it is more like observations. I just got my copy of the Mirror after receiving an email that the BOM issue of the Montreal Mirror was out and man, what a fun little surprise! My blog, the Pregnant Goldfish, somehow managed to crawl into second place for […]
We’ve got some updates regarding the Drama Mess happening at OFF Intrarts tomorrow, Saturday April 26th!
For one, our friends at Afro Bytes will be setting up shop to offer all some tasties off the Barbeque! What better way to celebrate the change in weather with a back yard BBQ, tasty (cheap) McAuslan beers and a […]
What makes Montreal Montreal?
That’s what Steph Troeth and AJ Kandy asked the crowd that gathered at the City Mess last Friday night. We all recognized the images of Saint-Laurent and Mount Royal avenue, but what makes these places so distinct and so dearly loved? According to the urbanist presenters, Montreal is all about the mix: […]
Indyish’s 11th Monthly Mess brings together indie artists and indie urbanists to reflect on our experience of the city. The music, spoken word, film and images presented are all inspired by the artists’ urban experience and, with this unique show, Indyish explores the ways in which art can create collective meaning and contribute to building […]
I’m usually reluctant to let city planners lose on our precious public spaces - especially ones with great historical significance like Place d’Armes. Ah yes, it’s that time of the year where your hand naturally gravitates towards the snooze button and then you open your eyes to realise that your class starts in 40 minutes and you’re still in your pyjamas. Or is that just me? Just like Lise, I’m gradually learning to live with my two new […]
I have also been carried away by a wedding this weekend or I would have gotten this up sooner: I just wanted to give a quick shoutout everybody who contributed to the blog last week and was entered in the raffle for a pair of Osheaga Tickets. We did the draw at the wind down […]
Last Night was the 6th MOnthly Mess and though it seemed at every moment of the hours preceding things were going wrong, they were the kind of wrong that fell into right remarkably quickly, and mostly because there was another artist there who could kick in and help. This is how the Mess and Indyish […]
