Stand Alone, Stand Proud: an Indie Pow-Wow Weekend in Mount Real.

Thanks to my trusty Facebook minifeed, I read this post from the one and only Dave Cool. Turns out there’s a super-super Indie Conference taking place this weekend, right here in La Belle Ville. Check out the word from Mr. Cool:

Hello to all of my Montreal artist friends,

Just a little reminder that the Montreal Indie Music Show is this weekend at the Just for Laughs Museum (2111 Boul. Saint-Laurent). The conference is FREE and is happening on Saturday and Sunday, from 10AM to 6PM each day, and on Saturday night there are free showcases at the Cabaret Music Hall. The conference is a great opportunity to network and meet other artists and industry contacts in the Montreal/Quebec music industry. Stand Alone Records has a booth at the tradeshow, so I’ll be there all weekend with a lot of free resource handouts for artists, as well as new Stand Alone T-shirts, discounted copies of the “What is INDIE?” DVDs and even copies of the Indie Bible at almost 50% off :-)
