This print featuring the legendary game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Super Mario Bros., Zelda, and Donkey Kong, is fricken wicked. It’s wicked even before you know that it’s a picture of this guy who brought so much good gigglin’ to your late late teenage nights.
Yoshi, Mario- these folks populated so much of my youthful experience of pop culture, and they were extra magical-real because I had to head off to my friends’ house’s to get access to them. And Shigeru Miyamoto was behind them. Probably smiling eagerly like he is here, and laughing manically as he dreamed up new ways for his beloved icons to get crushed. This print equals brilliant conversation piece, and gives you a subtle seguay into important questions like “do you play video games?”
