Next Thursday, the 2nd edition of the Reel Dames Film Fetival presents an evening “about films and music, and the ladies who like to make both.” Featured will be Indyish’s 24-hour music video competition winner Lela Quesney who did the video for Giselle Numba One’s song “Listen Kid”. Check it out if you like ladies, music, film or fun.
Reel Dames Film Festival 2007 : SONIC SCENERIES
Where film and music meet
Tuesday, March 13 2007
La Sala Rossa, 4848 St-Laurent
Doors 8 p.m., $5
For this year’s festival, organizers Hosay Breau and Aimee van Drimmelen asked one question: “What to you see when you hear your favourite piece of music?” The result is a diverse program of short films by 12 local female filmmakers, made for, or inspired by music.
Some used the opportunity to make a music video for their own band, others to screen an older project, and still others to make their very first film.
With the success of their first year, and this year’s good lookin’ program, organizers hope Reel Dames will be a place where women filmmakers can showcase their amazing stuff on the big screen for years to come!
