Profile of a Mess act - Urban Preacher

by team indyish

Joining us today for the Indyish Mess at the Fringe (co-produced with Suoni per il Popolo in the park on the corner of St Laurent and Rachelle here in Montreal from 2:30 - 9:30!) are the incredible Urban Preacher!

Urban Preacher was born in Montreal in 2007 from a collective group of musicians who had the desire to create a refreshing sound. The experimental recording sessions gave way to this 9 piece band playing hard rock soul music with catchy hooks and melodies. Largely orchestrated by multi-instrumentalist blues-rocker Jordan Safer (MOKSA), Urban Preacher is fronted by the soul-rock vocals of Myrrhine Faller (The One & Only). Filling out the band is Mick Mendelsohn on bass, Dan Moscovitch (First You Get the Sugar) on drums, Hannah Wilson and Eva Tolkin (Effusion) on backup vocals and for the Fringe Festival, Alan Snoddy (Stars, Alan Mann) will be on lead guitar. On sax is Steven Salcedo (The Element) & accompanying the band will be a violinist.

Urban Preacher’s first worldwide release is a song called “Locomotive” which will appear on “Double Talkin’ Jive: A Tribute to Guns n’ Roses” (Versailles Records/Big Daddy Music Distribution). If that isn’t enough band members for you, there will be several special guests on Fri June 13. The energy will be flowing and the masses will congregate. Preach it to the people…
