ok, so here’s a quick lesson (part of a series of walk throughs for adding video to your blog posts on indyish) -
1. Go to the “Write” > “Post” page in the back end just as you normally would and look for the “Media” button.

Hint: If you’re not seeing the “Media” button (or any button for that matter), you may have to go to the: “Profile” > “Your Profile” page and UNCHECK “Use the visual editor when writing” first. Don’t forget to click “Save and Continue Editing” if you’ve already started a blog post. Switch off the visual editior (it seems to be broken now anyway), then come back to you’re draft and continue with the following steps.
2. Go to the myspace page that is currently hosting the video you would like to insert / embed.
For this example: let’s say i wanted to include a music video from our myspace friends: The Stills.
i would first go to their myspace profile page and look for the 2 links at the upper-left corner (just under their small profile picture).

3. Click on the link marked: “Videos”. This should take you to their video page where you should see any of the videos this user has uploaded to myspace.
Note: If this section is empty, it’s because they don’t have any myspace videos yet. Many myspace users have embedded videos from youtube and elsewhere on the web. But, they have simply added them to their myspace page, this is not the same thing as actually uploading your video to myspace.

4. Choose the video you would like to see and follow the link to get to the single video page. There should be only one video on this page. The URL should look something like this:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoID=2011259493
Notice the “videoID=2011259493″ part. If your URL doesn’t start with myspace.com and end with a videoID - you’re probably not on the right page.
5. Copy and Paste the entire URL into the popup dialogue from Step 1 (above). Then, click “Save and Continue Editing” to preview your draft (at the bottom in the backend).
Here’s the actual video (embedded) for: Helicopter (by The Stills). Enjoy!
