JASON BOTKIN : TRANS-FORMATIONS
As I understand it, a « podcast » refers to the recording of a conversation and/or musical track specifically meant for a web audience. In this podcast, you hear Jason Botkin and I talking about his solo show TRANS-FORMATION currently at Pangée.
Jason’s work is engaging on so many levels for me, his extensive use of personal mythology and universal symbolism echoes my personal taste for a certain kind of visual/spiritual exploration.
Find out what’s the deal with the medieval elements found in this particular series, visceras served in plates, his illustration/graphic novels aesthetics .. and what did his mom tell me at the opening regarding his childhood’s nightmares ? We also talk about the invisible, alchimistry and death or, as Jason puts it, an expression of his perspective on death and life as a continuum, that of reincarnation, that spirits are imortal and the body acts as a vessel for one particular life .. ya.
The interview lasts a little less than 13 minutes .. and it’s all worth it :)
