Just a quickie Sunday heads up about a new journal being published here in Montreal:
Pivot: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Visual Culture
The inaugeral issue of Pivot is themed “Play” and contains work I’m excited to check out, like the piece by guest artist Darren O’Donnell (who I’ve been hearing about since I was a shy kid following my playwright dad around in hectic-but-awesome-theatre-festival-time Toronto… and again more recently, when Neil got his hair cut by kids as part of a Mammalian Diving Reflex experience.. that’s O’Donnell’s company - check ‘em out, they’re pretty awesome.)
Pivot has also got goods by some of my fellow ex gradstudents from Concordia’s arts and coms programs - people who do cool things like make mix cd’s for their thesises (ie; Owen Chapman, ie; opositive). And it’s also got some form of dearness I suspect by the artist who created the book I bought my sister this year for Christmas (Elizabeth Beliveau - she wrote Something to Pet the Cat About which makes a fine present for a teenage girl if I do say so myself.. and is published by Conundrum Press actually!)
Pivot: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Visual Culture
We are please to announce that the first issue of Pivot: An
Interdisciplinary Journal of Visual Culture will available for sale in

theme of Play, and features texts and visual work by graduate students
