Photos from a welcomed exception to the no-shows-during-finals rule

by Marilis Cardinal

Due to homework overload, a stressful week ahead and 2 nights worth of not keeping up with what I should be doing (i.e. important end of semester projects), I very very reluctantly decided to skip the Man Man show at Le National on Sunday night. My roommate came back from the show that night, while I was still working, claiming that I had just missed the best show ever which lead to jealous revenge dreams about super private secret after-shows that only existed in a secret dream realm I could apparently access between the sound of my alarm in the hours of 6:30-6:40AM the next morning. Ahhhh well! I could take comfort in the fact that the night before, I walked into a room at Condordia to a show that would pretty much just blow me away. In addition to being visually beautiful (take a look at the sweet black and white setup below), my tired and beer-filled brain welcomed the change of the typical indie music that I subject it to a few nights a week for a kind of experimental I-won’t-try-to-describe-it-because-I-can’t band composed of two seriously talented performers I know nothing about. Intrigued? As am I! Hopefully the lovely petite singer, Ruby Attwood gets back to me on the what?who?please play again!s and I’ll keep hoping this was not just a fragment of my imagination like that really awesome Man Man secret show that I dreamt about.
