Osheaga Endgame and the group formerly known as The Smog

How did it come to this?

After years of missing Bloc Party live in 4 different cities, I finally witnessed the awesome firepower of their fully armed and operational battle station of rock. Osheaga has been full of “hang out in the crowd and sway to the music” moments; Bloc Party provided the crashing wave of panic (am I going to make it out of this wild-eyed and violent crowd alive???) that I’d been seeking. Rock and Roll baby. Truly complete.

And is this the forum for a straight boy to declare his “ooooh, aaaaaah”-edness over Bloc Party’s front man?

The music, man! Stick to the music!

Actually, that’s it for the music. Osheaga-Sunday has come and gone… I somehow found myself at Sala Rosa shortly thereafter to catch the tail end of Bill Calahan (formerly Smog). A deep moody red to contrast with Bloc Party’s yellow fury. And the perfect way to end the evening.
