New Creative Commons Feature and Some More Bug Fixes

There’s a new feature available for all Indyish members that will let you set a Creative Commons License for the content you publish throughout this site. It does so by adding a new section to the Write/Edit Post pages (see first screenshot below). You can choose to create a different CC license for each blog or product post you publish (or previously published) on Indyish. Note: this new (easy to use) feature is optional, and it is turned off by default (no license is set). That means, nothing will change for any existing blog posts or products you might have already published, same goes for anything you plan to publish in the future. However, in the spirit of open source, and in an effort to offer more tools for independent artists - we thought it was about time this option be made available.. we’ll let all of you decide if and when to use it.

Also, while we’re talkin’ open source, i went ahead and released the CC feature as a WordPress Plugin - which means anyone running a WP blog can download the plugin and activate this feature on their website. Bug Fixes:
The two main bug fixes of interest are:
1. “bug in next/previous post links on author profile pages does nothing” - [identified by Tessa] - see forum post for more details.
2. “bug in comment excerpts causes author profile pages to break” - not pretty, but, guess what? - fixed.
Some not-so-new features you may never ever even have heard of before (and you won’t believe your eyes):
1. Behold! The Subscribe page has be fixed and cleaned up. Anyone (you don’t have to be an Indyish member) can now visit this page to subscribe via email and receive Indyish Notifications (1-2 email per month).
2. Bewilder! The MonthlyMess Roundup page was cleaned up and divided into two pages for 2007 and 2008. Check it out if you’ve ever wondered about past messy-ness.
