My first indyish blog post

My first indyish blog post.. hmm. it’s like a whole new world over here in the “blog” and it’s going to take me a while to get used to it. I want to do site updates, and whisper about the kinds of things we have coming, but I also want to avoid that heavy-handed “selling you my site” tone that blogs seem to get when they blog about their business.

blogging while engaging in commercial activity is perhaps entirely unethical. I puppet an organ of the press (or two), so I should keep my hands out of activities that might distort my perspective, some might say (though no one has.) In response to these imaginary critiques I have lots of things to say about how I think communications ethics are adjusted by the open source enabled commons. As a precaution let me say that the opinions expressed here (and throughout the twisty and interconnected halls of all my websites) are offered entirely without warranty. Use them bravely at your own risk.

What else can I tell you.. audio is coming soon, and with it many mp3’s and interviews, and lots of opportunities for me to ask people what they think indyish’s ethical stance should be. I’m also stoked about our new shopping cart because it’s very smart, and also is kind of industrially chique.
