Dear friend!
This weekend, WHO IS KK DOWNEY?, the Canadian indie breakout comedy, opens for a theatrical run in both Toronto (at THE ROYAL) and Calgary (at THE GLOBE).
This debut feature from Montreal’s Kidnapper comedy troupe has been called “the real thing…a truly funny movie” by John Anderson at VARIETY and “the funniest comedy of the year” by Matt Hayes at the MONTREAL MIRROR.
“Who is KK Downey” is a true DIY feature and owes all its credit to the Canadian arts community. On opening weekend, it had the highest per screen average in Canada and is now set to open in Toronto & Calgary! Please keep this trend going by forwarding this message and showing up to the theater on OPENING WEEKEND! Canadian indies don’t last long, so we need your support!

SYNOPSIS:
“Who is KK Downey?” is the story of two perennial losers who want more than anything to be famous and popular. The only thing is, Terrance’s indie band sucks and Theo can’t get “Truck Stop Hustler,” his touching book about a young male prostitute, published anywhere. Things change however, when they decide to print Theo’s book under the name of its fictional protagonist: KK Downey. The book becomes a sensation, with over privileged twenty-somethings wanting to desperately identify with the tragic figure. Canada, HD, colour, 87minutes.
Starring: Darren Curtis, Kristin Adams, Matt Silver, Pat Kiely, Dan Haber, Paul Spence, Claire Brosseau, Etan Muskat, Brent Skagford, Dave Lawrence, Dan Beirne, Jenna Wright & Laura Perlmutter
