Because the Indyish live show – The MonthlyMess – at which we wanted to screen Paul Neudorf’s dance film Refractions was an unticketed, pay what you can, community event, he was able to have the (world?) premiere with us and still get accepted to incredible festivals like the FIFA.
Mess attendees were treated to something pretty special with live improvised performances by the choreographer/performer from the film in improvised duet with another dancer, and with the incredible string ensemble that created the sound scape (also live.)
So, we’re awesome basically (whoa, ego’s healthy today!) and Paul Neudorf is the awesome-est for bringing that all together to share with us.
So go see his film in it’s proper, darkly hushed and Filmic context, and give the lad a hug!
