Mid Monthly Mess post fun

by Marilis Cardinal

The Demaes are playing right now, after showing their new video for the first time (hopefully it will find it’s way on here soon, it’s ADORABLE!). Oh man, this band is really fun. This blog post is going to be similar to the stream-of-consciousness (and no spell check) of the Fringe/Osheaga days, so enjoy.

First, we had an intro from the hilarious and witty Ms. Gina. Then, if I remember correctly, a reading from one of the submissions for the “all the things I know about fashion, I learned from my mother” special edition zine from Worn Fashion Journal and the introduction to the post-it fashion advice wall that holds things like “if you wear a spiderman costume every day, it stops being special”. Cute! Then there was a presentation by one of eco design store La Gaillarde’s designers and a really fun Oprah-style fashion show while she discussed the way to shop intelligently and the ways to eco-friendly dress. More fashion readings by Ted. I hope I’m not forgetting anything…

A little break followed by an unplugged version of the rockin’ Nightwood who are now bloggin’ on this very site- oh! the Demaes are playing that song from the music video now! People are cheering! Fun times! Nightwood!!! Yes, so they didn’t “make our ears bleed” (not tonight), but they did do a lovely rendition of probably one of my favorite songs of all time, PJ Harvey’s Dress. Then Brave Radar who I (at this point, I was done the post but accidentally pressed the wrong button and went back and lost the rest of the post, ah live blogging!) am totally biased in talking about tonight because they look absolutely lovely, Tessa in a cute retro wedding dress, Conor looking dapper in a blazer and skinny pants and Gabe sporting the brit rock look with his thin tie. And now the Darling Demaes are doing their thing and I’m going to go dance! Yay!!
