So, as promised, I’m here to tell you about the site we launched yesterday morning. It’s called LivingLightly.ca and it’s the vision and project of David Chernushenko, who you’ll remember if you follow Green Party politics. He’s the man who got the most votes of any Green candidate back when running for Ottawa, but then forked from the party, leaving politics to itself and now here he is with this web, tv, film community project scheme about pooling ideas and hopes for a future that’s light and not doom-y. He hired us to make his vision visible and we did our darndest.
George Blott did the illustrations, and Elran’s the champ for pulling the design and navigation together so beautifully in the face of a sudden deadline. (The sudden deadline emerged in the face of some media attention - an article in the Citizen came out yesterday so we hustled to time the launch with it.) I coordinated, communicated and made sure it was stocked with meaningful content before launching, and a video and writing team did their thing, and yeah, I think it’s quite a nice start for a website. We’ll be adding more functionality and content over time, and your tips and contributions are super-uber-welcome.
While I’m talking about our recent green projects, I should also mention that the Indyish Podcast is up and running again after a bug briefly brought it to a standstill, and as a welcome back Pod I’ve posted the recording of a Soil and Soul excerpt over Ca the Yowes. Hope you enjoy!
