junKbox Takes the Reigns and Adds Numbers to ‘The Countdown’

As esoterically small as poetry circles usually are, there is a steady increase in online groups. www.miporadio.net is perhaps one of the largest internet poetry sites, featuring podcasts, poetry, as well as specialized poetry shows. ‘The Countdown’ is one such show. It is hosted by US poet Bob Marcacci and now is produced by your very own Indyish Community Developer, Josh Hinck(euphoreador).

The new episode features poet Bill Allegrezza, as well as very different poets from all over the world reading their poems. Josh mixes his music, sound effects, poetic oddities and much more to make the show what it is. Just good poetry and listening. What is fresh and new about the show is that the poetry on the show is very ‘today’ and current, it is culled from poets’ internet blogs and websites and only from the ones that are regularly updated. So what this show puts together is extremely modern poetry and presents it in a highly accessible way. Bob writes very cool introductions to each of the poems that are witty and honest. These very personal ideas and concepts whose frankness is a nice relief from the normal sugar-coated blah, blah, blah, help to truly give The Countdown a wonderful sound/feeling that should not be missed.
