Hey the local weeklies have come out and we’re featured in two of them! And both decided to go with the logo designed by OneNeck! Yay OneNeck!
Isa Tousignant did OneNeck justice by crediting him as the artist of the Indyish caricature- for those of you wondering who made that angry guy, it’s him.
One more thing to clarify- Telefauna, Shoot the Moon and Sara Johnston are not “Indyish bands”. They are Indyish.com co-authors (10 points to Tousignant for nailing that one!) they are the first bands to sell their stuff on our site, but, as I mentioned to Harding, we are not at all a label, we have no ownership or rights to their work, or say in what they do or where else they sell. they are not our bands, we’re just a website and a network.
Given how much is going on in our weekend- with the fun design consult for CVp’ers from Re-Gen, Hastings and Main, Pearls Before Swine and complexgeometries, and the photo shoot with darren Curtis and Stacy Lundeen and more more more, I think both writers deserve a high five for squeezing all they did in to their word counts.
On the Internet, things are different- there’s more room to talk things through. This is what Robyn did, in her witty and dear way, over on Midnightpoutine.ca, and it is my favorite write up on us so far. I especially like the part about elementary school, so check it out and give a listen to Jeremy’s regular weekend podcast too- this week it features Telefauna, Sara Johnston and Shoot the Moon!

wow, i sound jusst a little defensive here, eh? :
“One more thing to clarify- Telefauna, Shoot the Moon and Sara Johnston are not “Indyish bands”.(…) as I mentioned to Harding,(…). they are not our bands, we’re just a website and a network.”
jeessh, apologies to Harding! i was a little touchy on this question, apparently. probably bc i didn’t want to give any bands who might want to work with us in the future the wrong impression. also maybe bc it was mid launch and my brain was in a manic frothy nervous state.
indyish is just another cd store in some ways, except we take a really small commission and throw events. and sometimes it’s been hard to communicate that we’re not a label or a promotion company.
anyway - i still stand by this..
“I think both writers deserve a high five for squeezing all they did in to their word counts.”
cheers to them and thanks.
and ps- on the downlow, harding was in a class i ta’d for a year. i had fun hounding his writing then and i still do now, but mostly i admire what the kid has accomplished. he’s done some excellent video work in his day, the lad has. watchout for him.
