indyish upgrades - speed up those darn page loads

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been not-so-secretly testing some performance upgrades for the site. Nothing you’d actually notice on the outside (although design and minor layout changes are coming very soon).

But on the inside, much of the code has been optimized with a focus on:

1. improving the time it takes to load a page
2. eliminating some more of those pesky bugs

Anyway, the new version is now live! (you’re looking right at it, yo)

You might also notice a few stylistic things that have changed ever so slightly in the course of this upgrade. But hopefully you’ll be more impressed by the estimated 20-25% speed-boost!!
