We’re teaming up – the POP Montreal music festival that never sleeps, and the city’s best network of Indyish artists and geeks- to throw the coziest, craftiest hiphop party of the season.
Pop Montreal is bringing local booty-bass dirty synth rap duo, ThunderHeist, minimal electrofolk witty wordists, Bold Saber, and funky posing princess, Giselle Numba One to benefit from an Indyish 24hr Music Video Making Contest. The groups are choosing which of their recorded songs they’d like a music video made for.
Video makers: You can help us give some great bands some great presents by spending one night making your best music video. Pick up a song on Saturday, December 16 at Lambi or here online, and return with a video Sunday (or put it up somewhere online and send us the link). Videos will be watched by judges from the band and winners will get screened the night of the party.
Aside from the big screening, the show on Sunday Dec 17 will feature performances by ThunderHeist, Bold Saber, and Giselle Numba One, a rap and spoken word open mic session featuring beats, squaks, and squeeks by Adam and Tyler from Telefauna, and a lil set by Lil Pip.
Cost for the show: 7$
BUT- we’ll subtract one dolla for every non-perishable you bring for the Mile End Mission Christmas Baskets. More on this, and a closer view of the poster, here.
Saturday and Sunday Club Lambi will feature an Insta Indyish boutique from 12-4, with all kinds of work by artists from the site for sale. And the Insta Boutique will remain open during Sunday Night’s party!
