Indyish on CTV

[Update: The Indyish CTV Piece is Finally Online!]
We just watched ourselves on TV and it was weird. Good! But weird. It’s interesting how you learn things just by virtue of having someone ask questions of you, videotape your house and friends, and go through your life in stories and footage from the past 2 years. For one thing, back then, when we’d get a traffic bump on the site from some coverage, the server would crash and everybody would be all like 500 error?! ARg! So! Things are better.
It’s really nice, especially in the deep chill mid-winter, with pre-show nerves on top, to be reminded that you’ve got at least one thing right-er then you did before. Even better: within moments of the 2 minute spot airing today at 12:30 noon, we had a new artist query from a gal who is awesome, and who I look forward to seeing around the ole homestead here!
The piece Paul Karwatsky put together (with a researcher named Karla Kaminski who proposed and coordinated the idea, 2 camera operators, and some editors and producers who I didn’t meet) was fantastic. Elran and I feel like it was almost too good. We’re very much still just figuring things out and have a lot to learn and only do any of this with a lot of help, and I’m always amazed that it works, in some form or another, and I hope it always will, aaaaand now I’m spooked by TV. Thanks Paul Karwatsky. =)
The artists featured in the piece, which included footage from different events over the past 2 years, including the Indyish Launch Party and last week’s Hip Hop Karaoke were: More or Les, Sara Johnston, James Finnerty, and Tessa Smith. Footage from the Indyish Launch Party was thanks to Tristan Brand. The illustrations shown are by Iain Laurie (our logos) and George Blott (our ship of fools!)

just heard that CTV may have aired the segment in the 6pm news block (as well as the 6am and 12pm/noon news).
for those who missed it, you can still catch the 12am (midnight) showing - tonight! The CTV segment is called: My Generation and it comes up towards the end of the hour.

I dont have CTV! (pathetic, i know…) Does anyone still have a VHS for old-school taping the show?

we’re going to try and get a copy directly from CTV and hopefully post it on Indyish for all to see..
p.s. we have a VHS player but it hasn’t been plugged in for years. i think risa is using it to keep her shoe collection from overflowing into the hallway. i don’t think it can record properly anymore, but hey - makes a good shoe stop!
