1. Live Recording Session with Tyler Rauman of Telefauna and local rap artists Alter Reign, demostrating the power of Ardour, an open source multichannel digital audio workstation for Linux. Special thanks to Mathieu Johnson of Coop-Musique for offering up his Ardour skills for this workshop. [ 2-2:30pm ]
2. Intro to Print on Demand for CD’s with guest speakers from Lulu.com who will talk a bit about the benefits of self-publishing which allows artists to create and sell finished works within minutes. [ 2:30-3pm ]

We’ll be at the Armoury all day, Saturday and Sunday. Drop by and visit us! We’ll have stuff for sale from Iisa Designs, including new guitar straps! And we’ll have a few copies of the Consistent Variable Project Workbook on sale! And Tshirts from Dayna Gedney, and hats from Emily Doolittle, and Lulu will be there, and Coop-Musique! and it’ll be cool! and and and….!!

Indyish.com pulls together a team of open source gurus, rappers, website makers and recording artists to demonstrate the potential of free software.

Watch, listen and learn as Tyler of Telefauna records a live track with a little freestylin help from local rap stars Alter Reign and our software mavens - mixing it all into an original track before your very eyes. All this using free software: with live multi-track recording, editing and mastering on the fly, we’ll also intro the editing options and plugins available in a linux environment.

Then, Lulu.com will demonstrate print on demand for CD’s!! Lulu provides the quickest and most DIY publishing system there is, and leaves you holding all your rights.

No matter your computer expertise, this hour long workshop is for the indyish rock star in all of us.
