Wooo!! June 1st!! St. Viateur Street Fest!!! Fringe starts in a week!!!
And on this day around the world……
The Indyish Assembly 2.0 finishes its first leg!!!
Scriptwriting ended last night at midnight (Pacific Time) and today the scripts get passed to artists who will have until the start of the Fringe (June 7th) to create their script illustrations.
Out of just over 40 writers signed up to participate, 15 writers made it to the relay handoff point (and two handed in TWO SCRIPTS EACH)
Here is the list of runners and links to their scripts on Celtx Project Central:

Julian Harley actually submitted two scripts! “Gameshow” and “Rat in the Kitchen“
Jonathan Stewart from PEI, living in Montreal wrote “And After That the Next Day“
Jean-Philippe Drecourt from Reading, UK submitted in French the script “Incompétence“

Kasmore Rhedrick from New York wrote “Apple Martini with Three Cherries“
We’re still waiting on a few stragglers, but these projects have been passed on to illustrators as of this morning.
Ok, I know I said all around the world, and most of these people are from Canada, the US, and the UK, but we had participants signed up from Slovakia, India, Mexico, and several other countries. The next legs of the relay are open to anyone as well, so hopefully we’ll see more international entries, though it’s nice to have a chance to read some new Canadian theatre.
gadzooks i can’t wait to read all these! And I will- in some focused sessions with beers and pizza at the mainline theatre (Montreal fringe headquarters) we’ll be looking at them all next to the lists of actors and theatre groups signed up. Our team will be getting an idea of casting the plays, and which scripts should go to animators, before the big official Assembly acting leg meet at the Fringe, Monday June 11th.
