Well, the question of whether Sub POP is truly indie may have been unofficially settled by the rumoured incident involving nasty letters sent from Sub POP employees to bloggers for posting Wolf Parade songs, but the music is brilliant and the people in Wolf Parade are onto ever more cool, curious creations so let’s celebrate them anyway. Also, did you know Wolf Parade formed at first because local sweetheart community organizer, self-deprecating funny indie label boss who released the Nightwood record, and total geek Alex Megelas of Grenadine asked them to play a show? Neither did I until Wikipedia told me!
Of the many Wolf Parade videos we could spotlight, I can’t resist this video for the song Modern World (I think it’s the fragile little puppets that make it so freakin touching. Or I’m a suck.)
Marilis took a couple great shots of Handsome Furs for Indyish last year, check those out here. Below is the Handsome Furs Take Away Show for Blogotheque:
Here is Sunset Rubdown playing awkwardly in the back of a cab, making me want to make out with all three of them for being freaking adorable:
And one more for fun, here’s Cadence Weapon (who we already did a mini indie music video feature on here) with Megasoid, the indie electro turbo crunk collective which includes ridiculously sexy Hadji Bakara of Wolf Parade, at SXSW:
Live footage and more official music videos from all these acts have been gathered for your pleasure my loves over on Video.indyish.com, please feel free to add any we might be missing, thanks!
