Indie Music Video - We Are Wolves + Coeur de Pirate

Tonight I’m going to go check out the mainstage of M for Montreal, a bilingual industry showcase for local music that comes round once a year here in Montreal, Quebec. On the lineup are Karkwa, whose music videos we recently featured here on Indyish, and Jon Lajoie who is funn-nny and who we featured back in April. Coeur de Pirate who I am quite looking forward to,

and We Are Wolves, who despite being Montreal wolf-band number three hundred and seventy four, made the following video which I think is totally brilliant. First the inexpensive but fully captivating “animated” furniture, then the magic wishing powers of the post-its, and then the pretty post-it take over, then the illustrated animation that starts at about 2:55, and then the monster furniture, and throughout it all the perfect quirky deadpan guy. Not necessarily my favorite sounds, but should be fun to bop around to, and if this aesthetic comes through in the live show I’ll be happy:
