Despite the fact that my Canadian, eh? ears can only understand about one tenth of what he says, I’ve always enjoyed Dizzee Rascal. I can at least discern that there’s always a disturbing, distorted city-street sick beat, serious machine-gun style verbal ability, and a sense of humour, and for me that’s enough. Plus you gotta love hip-hop music videos and the almost inevitable girls in tops like small hankerchiefs… at least the girls in Dizzee’s videos look like they’re having a gas and he doesn’t resort to the T+A trope every time. Plus plus, he collaborated with David Byrne and the BPA on Toe Jam, which as you’ll see from page 3, has it’s own series of seriously dear music videos.
