Just discovered an Indie music resource blog I thought I’d share with you guys. I came upon Hometracked via an article about making money as an independent musician, and went on to read more balanced opinion about the way the industry works. The top 5 list of indie money makers and it’s extension in the comments touches on the main things you’d expect - selling CD’s at shows, writing songs on request, writing for films - all things which I think go better the wider your indie network is. Which of course is my interest with Indyish. Ha hA!
Another fantastic site for music coverage - this one because of the quality of the writing and the sweet mp3’s more so then the practical advice or industry opinion … it’s one that I’m sure is known to most of our Montreal readers, but may be new to you: Said The Gramaphone. Fricken delicious daily read for me these past long years. Designed by Neale!
Another great find Risa, some good stuff on there! :)

Just visited your blog and thought you may appreciate a quick intro…
Indieloo.com is a new site that features long-form acts, shows, performances. The site is all about the show, ie., the complete video or audio production of a sold out performance or a super-cool gig. Something that fans want to see or listen to, again and again – in long form.
Indie Performers can place their shows on Indieloo, set their own price, and retain 65% of the proceeds.
It’s just getting started and looking for good gigs. It’s free to add a show.

hmm- indieloo, sounds like the artist does all the work to make and post the video and you take 35%, presumably because you drive huge traffic to the video and the artist makes way more sales then they would through their own site?… is it working, i wonder?
