Indie Love - Indie I Do

Brides and grooms who have a hard time finding the perfect item for their wedding will breathe a sigh of relief when they attend the inaugural Indie I Do wedding event, being held at the Heritage Hall on Saturday, January 17, 2009.

Intended to be a departure from traditional wedding shows, Indie I Do is targeted to couples who have modern and unique views of marriage and weddings, as well as the traditionalist looking to add a little bit of personality to their wedding. The event will feature independent, edgy and innovative exhibitors in wedding-related areas such as fashion & accessories, jewelry, florists, wedding coordinators, food and beverage, photographers and videographers.

“Many couples are looking for a unique way to express their personalities through their weddings,” explains Rob Tucker, co-event producer with lotus events, “Too often they find that traditional ideas can be tried and true, but they usually don’t quite match their style or individuality.”

Indie I Do is a joint production between Vancouver B.C. based lotus events, a wedding planning and event management company, and Blue Olive Photography, a boutique wedding photography studio. Both believe there is more than enough demand for a yearly event that will continually bring together independent artists with independent-minded consumers.

Taking place at the Heritage Hall, the all-day wedding event will showcase over 30 local and independent designers, retailers and vendors, all prepared to give weddings a memorable twist! All pre-purchased tickets will receive a free, reusable gift bag and there will be a number of prize giveaways throughout the show. Fashion shows and live DJ will also be featured throughout the day.
