Indie Fashion Show – Thread in San Diego

Normally I don’t mind the cold and snow of Montreal, it’s sparkly and pretty and we don’t own a car anymore so we’re done with sitting in the cold waiting for it to warm up, moving it across the street in the middle of the night when the plows come roaring, losing it under mountains of the white stuff… No more. So winter is enjoyable enough, but the cold is bothering my bones this morning and down in San Diego, a town I have loved, they are preparing for the final Thread Event of 2008, mega indie fashion show with 4 catwalks, dj’s, art shows, and temperatures that would have happy Montrealers busting out the hippy skirts and short shorts (it doesn’t take much.) Sigh. Anyway, thanks for the fashionable heads up from the Gay and Lesbian Times. Have fun kids!

Thread Fashion and Lifestyle Show will take place at the Sheraton Hotel on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Just in time for the holiday season, more than 120 of the top local indie fashion designers will hit the runway for one of the biggest shopping events of the year. The Fashion and Lifestyle Show will transform the Big Tent at the Sheraton into a showcase of emerging fashion designers and the music and art that rock their world. San Diego’s independent fashion shopping event will host four runway shows starting at noon and continuing every hour until 4 p.m. Those who attend will have the opportunity to save up to 80 percent on merchandise, with entire outfits going for $50. Also included will be an art gallery, DJs, lounges, the latest cars and gadgets, gift bags and more.
