Well, these are strange times and even stranger
measures are required to cut the crap. Hey! You!
Hello there! Yes I am e-talking to your e-eyes. I am
one of the new community developers and shall be on a
crusade (non-religious) to help bring to your ever
questioning and scrutinizing palette such a plethora
of cool/new/unique/meaningful art and an insight into
what makes them so, that it not only boggles my mind,
it must (by this time thus far into this post) boggle
yours as well.
What makes something meaningful? That my electronic
voyeurs is a pertinent question roaming the
labrynthian corridors of my mind as the minotaur not
ready to devour me but actually bearing a platter of
cool art. (Laugh at this point…um..er…cry?) The
largely subjective nature of art holds an ever-present
mystery as to its need and use. What one holds aloft
as beauty another balks at and dismisses as schlok.
What one deems essential another views as derivative.
This holds true now as from the time of the first cave
paintings and overtly pregnant female figurines. But
art remains intrinsic to our human condition and if
you are reading this, a cornerstone in your daily
adventure. So that brings me to my goal; to bring to
the surface and expose art that I view as relevent and
good. Whether that is by me stumbling into a show at
1:30 am or whether it is due to being told of the
performance ahead of time by you, the readers of these
words. I think there is a strong apathy that lingers
in the hearts of humans (ones living today or ones at
the birth of homo sapiens sapiens) that needs to be
viewed, acknowledged, and then dissuaded from its
perch of prevalence in our world. So…onwards and
upwards and off to the show.
There is a much-anticipated excitement around the
acquisition of the new community developers that I
sincerely feel as well as embrace. Indyish appears to
be a very wonderful group and I will try to make them
and the community a better and more accepting place.
(I hope that doesn’t sound too cheesy but it is true).
