As part of Indyish’s special programming for the Montreal Fringe Festival, we’re going to make car art.
Car Art: Friday June 8th on St.Laurent Street, in front of the Art Market
With help from our resident outdoor art stars, we’re bringing together a roster of incredible local and international talent to paint cars and buses and walls right in the middle of the action during the Fringe and the Grand Prix Street Fest.
Got a car or other form of transport you want on the list for this art treatment? email Fringe@ Indyish.com asap!
We already have one mini bus signed up to be painted, before heading out on a cross Canada tour. We are hoping to find 3 more rides to stylize, so Fringe artists and bands especially please listen up and heed this invitation! We think these people’s paintings will make the car you arrive in stand out in a seriously good way, and help you get people to come see your shows. As you continue to tour in the car we helped make art, we hope you’ll send us blogs on how you’re doing, and on how people are reacting to your ride. Continue to promote your show on Indyish as you take your art on down the road!
Here’s some more info:
Friday June 8th at noon: You can talk with the artists who’ll be working on your auto beforehand to give them context, but beyond that it’s up to them. You’ll need to have your car with us all day Friday June 8th. If it rains Friday we’ll paint Saturday. You pick your car up no later than Sunday afternoon, and what you do with it then is up to you: heck, auction it on ebay, turn it into a planter and put it in a garden, give it to a teenager, sell ads on it, or drive your functional free public art around with pride.. Warning though: we’re offering no warranties or guarantees or anything like that. We’re putting together artists whose work we think you’ll love but if you don’t, we can try and hook you up with some free paint from Eco Quartier to cover it up, but beyond that there’s nothing we can do - that’s the risk, but I think it’ll be worth it.

You should see whether the guy at Je l’ai wants his bio-diesel paint job redone…
Will send message to Fringe artists this week asking more directly about who’s up for a Pimpmobile…
