Handlebar mustaches, peanut butter cookies and early bedtime for this blogger.

by Marilis Cardinal

Here’s a little recap of the rest of the rest of my night if you’re not sick of hearing of me yet:

Tonny Ezzy had me at the brown suit and handlebar mustache. I don’t know what a handlebar mustache is but that’s what I imagine it to be and it’s probably the coolest kind. Of mustaches… I got there during the soundcheck which is probably a little awkward when you’re doing it in front of a tent full of expectant people. Especially when it’s just not working. ”Sometimes we got problems with the sound system, sometimes we got problems with the soul sisters.” is what he said. Oh you know it! Tony made up for the hold up (yeah, I can rhyme) by making us shake it against our will and tired feet. The perfect late (yeah, like 10PM!!!!!!!!) night treat.

I intended on heading straight to Explosions in the Sky but got sidetracked when I passed by Oh Bijou and could not resist the cute pop music that was coming out from the trees. I sat down, my intentions being that I’d just stay a bit and then head out to the other stage but then I forgot my plans and just stayed until the end of their set, feeling all my tense muscles melt, cured by that sweet sweet music. When I came back to my senses, I went to see the band I had been waiting all day to see, Explosions in the Sky and then stayed for 2 songs and realised my head hurt tremendously and that I had nothing to eat all day but Alanah’s peanut butter cookies, some grapefruit at our Indyish pre-Osheaga breakfast meeting and some rice crackers. Also, thanks to a friend that will remain un-named, I remained hydrated in the later part of the evening with the drinks he stole from the catering backstage and shoved in my purse. So, the movie Electroma by Daft Punk and Hank Pine and Lily Fawn will have to wait for another time, another year, another place. I am heading for my bed and really excited about this final destination. So long!

Notice how my posts just get gradually more confused and confusing. It’s not so much a review as it is a recap. C’est la vie, oui? I will have the photo proof of the second half of the day all ready for you soon, Indyishers as well as some photos from a girl that I just met who was shooting away and volunteered her photos for your eyes and mine.
