On Day 4 of the Fringe, after watching Dave Cool’s documentary What Is Indie?, we were treated to music by Amanda Mabro, followed by Whiteroom. Here are short video excerpts of the two performances. Enjoy!
awesome video sylvain! but you forgot to mention- there was a third incredible performance that night!! by Andrea Revel!!
it’s not your fault though- i think you missed Andrea Revel’s sweet and dear stirring tones - her truly witchy cool set - because we had to switch and cram the evening up at the last minute to end way earlier then anticipated. this (for those of you who don’t know) was because the venue (the green room - le salon vert) was getting daily noise complaints from a new neighbor. huge bummer. especially since it was our indyish fundraiser and our first time working with the super cool Dave Cool, director of What is Indie?, and with Andrea Revel, Amando Mabro and WhiteRoom, which are all great acts, skilled musicians, and, from what I saw over the course of a stressful night, really nice people as well. it particularly sucked to have the sound cut to nearly nothing during the WhiteRoom’s set because the owner saw cops coming. I owe those WhiteRoom guys beers, and so does the Green Room, I’d say, and so does the crotchety neighbor actually. beers for everybody! or cranberry juice, whatever you prefer.
entout cas. the Green Room has a new sound door in the back (built in the hours before Hip-Hop Karaoke - another tense indyish @ fringe tale, i’ll tells ya) and the neighbor seems to have quit complaining (for now, i’m sure). and we have this wicked video document of almost all the What is Indie Indyish night.. oh yeah - we also had to cut the round table entirely to have time for all the bands to play! did i mention that part? yeah. oy. we plan on doing it properly soon, so watchout for that, and to catch a bit of Andrea Revel both in performance and in interview, pick up a copy of What is Indie?. she’s in it. but her hair’s different now.
aaaanyway.
lastly- thanks again for the video Sylvain, and for all your smart sharp reviews and support throughout the festival. yer the bomd dude, and a HUGE asset to our team.

Thanks, Risa!
I figured that I’d missed Andrea Revel and that someone who’d actually gotten to see her do her thing would fill in for me.
Speaking of Hip Hop Karaoke, that video should be up some time tonight!
