The other day I was looking into the possibility of QuadAntics selling selected T-shirts at Lincolns Haymarket Farmers’ Market. I was on the Internet reading a PDF file informing me there is a variety of vendors selling items such as fresh produce, and craft items grown & made by the vendors themselves. It happens every Saturday from 8 AM-12 noon beginning in June and through October. Towards the end of the PDF file, I read the following:
“Haymarket Farmers’ Market has just about everything you need, so please leave these items at home:
Weapons, personal knives, utility tools.”
To me, the first part of this PDF file was conveying to the customers of Farmers Market they have ‘ everything you need ‘ as far as items for purchase and other conveniences such as an ATM machine, public restrooms, and maybe even entertainment for the children. I was taken when I read the first items consumers needn’t worry about bringing involved weapons, and personal knives.
Does this Farmers Market have vendors who are blacksmiths making swords and battle axes? “I hereby knight you with this sword [sheath sold separately] for a low prize of $100.00 [plus Nebraska sales tax].” Rambles the sales pitch of the blacksmith.
Maybe some ex-inmates are now small promising entrepreneurs selling homemade shanks at a good price? “Safely stores in your orifice when not presented with danger!” Convincingly preaches a shank vendor.
