Dress Mess Fashion and the latest on your local Street Style blog

by Marilis Cardinal

So I was pretty excited about this mess because lets face it, I love fashion pretty obsessively, from fashion week to your latest thrift store find, just all of it. In addition to that, I’m well known for wearing pants as infrequently as possible and wearing a dress at any given moment is the way to go for this girl here! That’s why, when came time to choose what to study, fashion design became a pretty obvious choice, and that’s also why, in addition to blogging here, I developed a Montreal/Toronto street style blog with 2 friends of mine. On Friday, both of these blogs got some well deserved photo love, some of which Risa posted here (more here), and some more found their way onto Pregnant Goldfish (check them out here), as a dress recap of the evening.

Pregnant Goldfish (or Shut Up You Twit, depending on my mood) has been getting some press love these past couple of weeks, so make sure you pick up the newest issue of Nightlife Magazine to read a little blurb about us in the ”Work in Progress” section, or read up online. The whole interview is also available on the Internet only, here, thanks to the dear Thomas Leblanc.

You might also remember the Street Clash competition that left Montreal far from the top spot as the world’s most stylish city, however, the response we got from that whole adventure has been really exciting and I did my first ever phone interview with Leah Rumack from the Globe and Mail. Although I never managed to lay my hands on the paper copy, the article was available online for a week (and on purchase here) or so and featured a few quotes from yours truly. It’s definitely odd to have so much response from something that is really just a pass time and ultimately just pretty silly!

And finally, there was a little mention of us in the Mirror, in Jack Oatman’s column Disco Volante. The funny coincidence, is that both Laura Marais from thefriendattack and Jo and Julien from Superlaser are friends, so there was a lot of phonecalls, high fives and did-you-see-the-new-mirror?s to go around.
