Doveman with his ridiculously sexy whisper, and deep throated choir of selves and others, plays with The Swell Season Wednesday, November 4, at the Olympia.

Doveman is Thomas Bartlett’s project in which he is the primary songwriter and singer. Bartlett is one of the most sought-after collaborators in the independent music scene, often playing in The Swell Season (though he doesn’t on the current tour, on which he is performing his own sets instead) as well as with Antony & the Johnsons, David Byrne, Bebel Gilberto and many others.
On his new album, The Conformist (out now on Brassland), he performs the music with a core band that includes The National members Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner and Bryan Devendorf; Nico Muhly; longtime Doveman member Sam Amidon; and a string section. The Conformist also features a number of surprising guest vocal performances, with turns by Martha Wainwright, Matt Berninger (The National) and Norah Jones, among others.
